Create an Energy Efficient Storage Space

Standard loft boarding that rests directly on the joists of your loft floor will compress the insulation beneath it, preventing it from working effectively. It is estimated that compressed insulation loses 50% of its efficiency, increasing your heat loss and therefore raising your energy bills.

A raised loft system creates a platform above the insulation for the boarding to rest on, allowing the insulation to retain its full depth and helping with your energy savings. It consists of tri- and uni-supports spaced 61 cm apart and securely fitted into the joists. Sturdy steel cross-beams are then slid between the supports to create a structure on which you can screw your loft boarding, saving energy.

Raised loft boarding allows your insulation to fit right up against the supports, leaving a small gap for airflow. This gap helps prevent condensation from forming in the insulation and causing damage.
